Win a Mark-My-Time Digital Bookmark
Mark-My-Time is hosting a contest this week on One Book Two Book. The winner will receive a Mark-My-Time digital bookmark for free!
Here are some details about the Mark-My-Time digital bookmark from a recent press release:
“It’s never been easier to monitor children’s reading times or get them excited about reading thanks to the new Mark-My-Time™ digital bookmark. This innovative digital bookmark features bright, fun colors and electronic functions that will encourage kids to make reading a daily habit. For parents, a simple touch of a button means that daily reading minutes are recorded easily and accurately.
“The award-winning Mark-My-Time digital bookmark is made of durable polyethylene plastic and comes in three hot colors—neon green, neon purple and neon blue. Its slim form fits neatly between the pages of any book. At the top is a digital clock that’s powered by an inexpensive, replaceable watch battery. Parents can choose to set a countdown timer with alarm that alerts students when they have completed their required reading time. Or, there is a cumulative timer, ideal for multi-session reading, which tracks total time read throughout the day.
“In addition to serving as a useful tool during reading sessions, the Mark-My-Time digital bookmark is also ideal for timing music practice sessions, timed math fact activities, meetings, homework study sessions, cooking and interval training when exercising.”
The Mark-My-Time digital bookmark has an average retail price of $8.95.

This is a great idea. My son isn’t old enough to use it himself, but I could use it to track how long each day I read to him, since I would like to spend at least 30 min a day doing that.

This would come in handy when we have to mark down how for school how many minutes we spent reading per day.

This sounds like a neat idea, Susan. As a children’s author, as well as a teacher, I’m anxious to see how one of these bookmarks works.

I can see lots of uses for my kids who can’t read yet - countdown for sitting at the table, for playing until time for bath, and maybe even time outs. Great invention.

My son needs this for his homework. I usually use the timer on the stove, this would be even better.

We have a 6-year-old who’s just learned to read. This would be a fun way for him to figure out how long it takes him to get through a page and a book, plus work on telling time.

I can’t even believe how useful this would be! It’s great for instrument practice times and recording minutes spent reading, and honestly, I think it would keep me on task as well.
