Travel Through Time with The Magic Tree House Books
Following our Time Travel theme this week, in conjunction with Camp Weary Parent, I’ll mention the Magic Tree House Books. This series, by Mary Pope Osborne, has taken many youngsters (as well as their teachers and parents) through numerous adventures in history and the future. They’re magical and teach while taking the young readers on exciting travels.
They also offer many opportunities for you to engage in activities based on the books’ topics. For instance…you’ll discover what it was like in the age of the dinosaurs in Dinosaurs Before Dark, encountering mummies in Mummies in the Morning, and the Middle Ages in The Knight at Dawn. How interesting to research these topics further and find activities surrounding them.
Incidentally, if you visit the Magic Tree House web site, you’ll find many time travel activities to enjoy throughout the summer, as well as a visit with author Mary Pope Osborne.
