About Mary Emma Allen
Writing for children and inspiring them to read and write gives me great pleasure. I’m an author and teacher, wife, mother, grandmother, and someone who enjoys reading and writing children’s books to share with youngsters and their parents. I live in a multi-generational home in New Hampshire.
I’ve had more than 200 children’s stories published in magazines and anthologies. Tales of Adventure & Discovery consists solely of my stories and illustrations. I’ve also developed a coloring book to accompany it.
I’m in the process of producing a picture book, Sarah Jane’s Daring Deed, based on the first story in Tales. Other books underway are: Papa Goes to War and Uncle Buffalo Bill. I also write books for adults, as well as teaching writing, quilting, and Alzheimer’s workshops.
I enjoy scrapbooking, researching family history, traveling, and sketching.
